MacFinish II & III Ethernet (MF)

The MacFinish II & III Ethernet system are professional color photo-finish systems for PC, which electronically record the finish line up to 2000 times per second and display this photo information together with the corresponding time (with an accuracy of 0.0005 of a second) on the computer screen.

Next to the camera, lens and camera tripod we use photocells or a push-button to control the recording of the finish photo.

The latest versions, MacFinish II Ethernet and MacFinish III Ethernet, both have a high speed ethernet connection with the PC for a virtually unlimited distance between camera and PC and complete remote control of all digital camera functions.

The digital engine of these systems is so powerfull that it can record pictures of 2000 pixels vertical at 2000 lines/s with 30 bits color resolution (up to billions of different colours). Therefore these cameras are equipped with minimal 256 Mbytes of internal RAM memory and maximum 2 Gbyte.

The MacFinish III Ethernet can optionally use motorised lenses for a complete remote control of all camera and lens functions.

The MacFinish .'R' software is specially made for regatta races and easily handles up to max 4 simultaneous races.

It is therefore already used at different World Cup races and World Championships, for example in Duisburg 1995 and Sevilla 2002.

Regatta split timing

For an accurate split timing system for regatta races we can connect up to 5 intercom boxes to our TT regatta Timerbox.

One 7-wire cable of up to 1 or 2 km (respectively canoe and rowing) connects all intercom boxes to the timerbox.

Every intercom box has a connection for a voice intercom headset with built-in microphone and a connection for a push-button timing switch.

Two operators are required at each split timing position. One operator uses the push-button to timestamp each participant, while the other operator records the order of finishing.

The voice intercom is used to transfer this order to the operator in the finish tower.

The timerbox is calibrated to 0.1 ppm accuracy and will transfer all timing results with 0.001 s resolution to a PC running our split timing software.

Of course all data is logged in a .TXT file onto harddisk, so that it is available for you to be read with Microsoft Excel, Word or any user defined race-management program.

The regatta split timing software is specially made for regatta races and automatically handles simultaneous races.

It is therefore already used at different World Cup races and World Championships, for example in Sevilla 2002, Duisburg 2007, Gérardmer 2007.
