MacFinish
II & III Ethernet (MF)
|
The
MacFinish II & III Ethernet system are professional
color photo-finish systems for PC,
which electronically record the finish line up to 2000 times
per second
and display this photo information together with the corresponding
time (with an accuracy of 0.0005 of a second) on the computer
screen.
Next
to the camera, lens and camera tripod we use photocells or a
push button to control the recording of the finish photo.
The
latest versions, MacFinish II Ethernet and MacFinish III
Ethernet, both have a high
speed ethernet connection with
the PC for a virtually unlimited distance between camera
and PC and complete remote
control of all digital camera functions.
The
digital engine of these systems is so powerfull that it
can record pictures
of 2000 pixels vertical at 2000 lines/s with 30 bits
color resolution (up
to billions of
different colours).
Therefore these cameras are equipped with minimal 256 Mbytes
of internal
RAM memory and maximum
2 Gbyte.
The
MacFinish III Ethernet can optionally use motorised lenses
for a complete remote control of all camera
and lens functions. |

Time
trial timing

For
an accurate timing system for a road time trial event we connect
push-buttons
and a track-contact to our Timerbox. The track-contact is automatically
triggered by the passing bicycle and generates a signal for the
timerbox. One push-button is used to enable/disable the track-contact
and the other push-button for timing backup in case two or more
participants are finishing at (almost) the same moment.
The
timerbox is calibrated to 0.1 ppm accuracy and will transfer
all timing results with 0.001 s resolution to
a PC running our Time Trial software.
This
software package will live calculate the finish time and order
of finishing and present
these results live on numerical or alfanumerical (LED or other)
scoreboards to the public.
Of
course all data is also logged onto harddisk and can be exported
at any time (during and/or
after the event) to a .TXT file onto harddisk, so that it
is available for you to be read with Microsoft Excel, Word or
any user defined program. |

Velodrome
timing

On
a velodrome, most timing occurs automatically by means of taped
track contacts, which give the start and/or finish signal(s)
to the
cycling timer box next to the PC. A total of 4 of these track
contact are installed if you want to time all 9 possible races;
200m sprint, 500m time trial,
1000m time trial, individual pursuit, team pursuit, etc...
Push-buttons
are also included for the timing of the team pursuit, where the
third member of each team is times each lap manually.
The
software on the PC, running under Windows 98, 2000 or XP, contains
a race selection window and one separate window for
each of the possible race types. The optional scoreboard(s) near the track
and in the stadium for timing, lap counter, difference time
etc. are live updated.
What
velodrome applications are concerned, the standard TimeTronics
3-digit scoreboards are equipped with a red and green light,
to indicate the leader
of the pursuit races.
All
timing data are continuously logged on harddisk of the PC, but also
available for serial or datafile export to external computer(s)
for further race
management, TV graphics display or press information. For some
races, like the 'elimination'
race, the MacFinish photo-finish system is also required and used each
lap to identify the last bicycle that crossed the finish line.
